The Perks of Wearing a Hijab!

Assalamualaikum.

Wearing a hijab is a part of the deal of being a Muslim.
Some people believe that wearing a hijab limits women from fully expressing themselves.
However, from the viewpoint of a hijabi itself, in my opinion, hijab actually helps me to reveal my potential further and it allows people to define me based on my ability and intelligence instead of my appearance.

Anyhow, today, I want to share with you guys, the perks of wearing a hijab! *Yeay!*

Having really nice hair

Yeah. We actually have great hair. Just so you know.

No, I don't have lice in my hair.

Yeah, because non-hijabis don't have lice.

No, you can't 'look at it'..!
Marry me first.

Feeling safe

Why only women?

Well, since it was estimated that 91% of victims of rape are female, and 99% of offenders are male, it's kind of a no-brainer why women should be more protected and covered compared to men.

As seen in most Muslim countries, men rarely make lewd gestures or whistle when a woman wearing a hijab passes by.
Wearing a hijab is kind of a sign for men to 'back off'. So, such women aren't as approachable as non-hijabis.
Well, unless you're wearing really sexy clothes. This makes your hijab to be irrelevant and pointless (since the reason of wearing a hjab in the first place was to prevent others' attention to you).

Ok, I'm not saying that wearing a hijab means that you're so much better than others.
I'm just pointing out the fact that one way or another, you have to accept the fact that wearing a hijab does bring a difference to the society's view on an individual, whether you like it or not.

Ensures that you are hygienic and clean

Hejab or head-covering ensures cleanliness and purity. Workers in a number of professions wear "veils" - nurses, fast food workers, health care providers and many more. In fact, when we compare the number of workers who cover their heads to the number who do not, we find that more people probably cover their heads than do not.

It's healthy!

Protecting the head is very important from a health perspective. Results Of medical tests show that 40-60% of body heat is lost through the head, so persons wearing head coverings during cold months are protected about 50% more than those who do not. In the traditional Islamic medical texts of Al-Jawziyya, we can find numerous references to the "four elements" of fire, water, air and earth and how these affect the body in adverse ways. In particular, we are advised to stay away from drafts and protect our heads in wind, breezes, drafts and cold weather.

The fun of mix-and-match

Did you know that by wearing a hijab, you can have fun mix and matching your clothes?
Besides, there are also different styles of hijab, FYI.
You can still be stylish as long as you follow the guidelines in Islam, okay.
Yeay to fashion and design!

Answering dumb questions

This is the best part!
Some of the questions that I've got since I started wearing my hijab are..
  • Do you shower in your hijab?
  • Are you bald?
  • Are you covering your hickey?
  • Do you have a lot of flees for wearing that?
  • Do you have Voldermort at the back of your head?

The answer to all of these is "NO."
Except for the Voldermort one.
Yes, he keeps growing, it gives me a headache sometimes.

It's actually a dress code

Some women kind of like rocking with short hair and some may have a slight physical problem where their bodies aren't actually 'curvaceous' like other women.

So, to not be switched and thought as a guy, hijabs actually helps people to identify our sex.

Smart, right?
I know!

You're not judged based on your appearance.

I'm not sorry to say this, but being a hijabi, you're not going to be judges based on your boob size and body curves.
Don't lie.
Everyone judges a person's appearance first, then her intellect, skills, bla bla bla..

gerard butler, hot, people, quote, true, ugly truth

Instead, people are forced, particularly men, to go past all this the outer appearances and focus on the my intellect, by how well I do my job, and how I interact with people.

Many people are actually surprised (guess why, haha) when they discover that a Muslim who wears a hijab is articulate, intelligent and educated.

What? Did you think wearing a hijab causes my intelligence to disappear?
Are you serious?
Oh, you are.
I didn't know that your clothes define you.
Oh, maybe they do.

Look at you.
