All About the Bass Parody!

Assalamualaikum.

Compared to the original version by Meghan Trainor, All About the Bass (which is all about empowering plus-sized girls and loving yourselves), a version that I found, entitled Mokmel, represents the point of view of guys on how they think of overweight girls.

To me, this song is quite sweet as it carries the statement that 'Eventhough you're fat, I still love you'.

As claimed before, I'm a hopeless romantic.

Who wouldn't want a guy that doesn't care about our fatness and loves our inner-selves, right?

The title of the song is an abbreviation of the word 'gemok' and 'comel'.

Gemuk + Comel = MokMel

Fine. There may be certain parts in the song that may seem a little hurtful and offending.

But then, as a whole, the singer actually wants to portray how the guy is in love with the girl, no matter how fat she is.

Loving her more than she think she deserves, being a plus-sized.

Trust me, I understand.

I mean, we're not all Victoria Secret models, are we?

So, that means that, just like any other girl in the whole globe, however 'fine' of 'OK' people seem to tell us regarding our body size, the insecurities are STILL bound to be there.
