The irony in my society (Dogs vs. Boyfriends)

Assalamualaikum.. 

This is a view from a Muslim girl..

What a Muslim thinks towards another Muslim..

This post maybe a bit controversial, but please open your mind and think of what I'm about to say..

Just please.

I think the society I live in is full of irony, and one of it is related to these creatures...

Some people strive with their belief that dogs and pigs are so untouchable and (maybe) disgusting to them that those who do were severely criticized and scrutinized.

Meanwhile, the same group of people fail to notice the fact that touching these animals aren't even a sin. In lieu, it's just considered unhygienic and the actor/doer/whatever were only required to perform 'Samak' (I'm not sure what it is in English).

The Messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), said: "Purifying a container that a dog has licked (in order for humans to use it) is done by washing it seven times, the first washing being with dirt.” [Muslim]. 

In two separate narrations by Abu Hurayrah stated that the Prophet (pbuh) told his companions of the virtue of saving the life of a dog by giving it water and quenching its thirst. One story referred to a man who was blessed by Allaah for giving water to a thirsty dog, the other was a prostitute who filled her shoe with water and gave it to a dog, who had its tongue lolling out from thirst. For this deed she was granted the ultimate reward, the eternal Paradise under which  rivers flow, to live therein forever. [Muslim]

See? Even though I've never heard of stories and hadiths regarding pigs, but I believe that all in all, Islam preaches compassion and love towards every single being, regardless of it's hygiene problem or whatsoever..

Eating any parts of dogs or pigs are a sin, but not touching them.

In addition, these particular group also neglects the fact that their own brothers and sisters are freely touching, hugging, kissing and even being sexually active with those who aren't even their mahram (individuals who aren't your close family or your marriage partner). Plus, some also consume alcohol daily (which is considered as a big sin in Islam).

So, let me get this straight..

You can kiss your boyfriend and you can drink alcohol, but you can't touch dogs and pigs?

I'm not saying that we should all start touching dogs or whatsoever, but I just think that sometimes things that we keep fussing about aren't actually that big a deal as we thought it was..

Let me just leave it there and let you do the thinking.

P/s : Well, I don't think I actally agree with the 'I Want To Touch A Dog' campaign, but my reasons are another story....
