The Role of an Ambassador of Islam
Assalamualaikum guys.. For the past few days, my club at the university (VicMuslims Club) had opened a booth where we promote Islam; having multiple activities like 'Try-a-Hijab', writing names in Arabic calligraphy, distributing free Quran translations, and etc. One thing that stands out the most during the event was when we had one-to-one discussions with non-Muslims regarding religion, particularly Islam. What I had learned was that while Islam is perfect the way it is, people’s depiction of how religion should be and somehow thinking that they need to change certain things has resulted in what was initially already perfect to become lesser than what it actually was, i.e. the Sharia Law. A guy came to VicMuslim’s booth and told us how he, who was initially a religious Christian, has decided that he’d be well off being atheist due to the fact that the world today seems to be in war because of religion.
